Jeanne Revel et Joris Lacoste
| W From October 2007 to January 2008, Jeanne Revel and Joris Lacoste ran a seminar at the Laboratoires every Tuesday, in partnership with the Dance Department of the University of Paris 8 and the Masters Directing Program of the University of Paris X. This twelve-session seminar endeavored to ask fundamental questions of W theory or, in other words, to formulate as rigorously as possible what happens between performer and spectator, or between performance and audience. In 2008, W continued this theoretical, practical and critical exploration in another way: - By establishing a work group open to the public for elaborating crucial tools in the field of performance, theater and dance. This W Seminar, which is being offered in partnership with the review Art21, meets every Saturday at the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers. - By organizing a work session in August 2008 that strived to develop and test compositional tools by actors and dancers for actors and dancers. - By thinking up W Games, which are performances in which anyone is free to participate, either as a spectator or as a player. These games model certain aspects of theatrical representation. They're held once a month at the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers. - Finally, by designing a web site with which to present theoretical and critical articles, a glossary, a descriptions of tools, rules, methods, and games. |
