| LE PROJET Chevreuil, Remy Héritier's choreographic investigation, has two prongs: language-making processes and choreographic translation on the one hand, and notions of context and duration on the other. These two veins suggest different directions for the work, rather than questions to be resolved directly. In other words, the research isn't thematic; it can't be reduced to these two issues. Chevreuil isn't a piece on translation or context, but a piece that happens to include the consequences of translation-related work and notions of context. What interests Rémy Héritier about translation are the alterations or transformations language undergoes in the displacement of meaning. What about choreographic translation processes? The question arises when accounting for the effect that context and duration have on a research process. The project is a long process that plays out within a space: in this case, the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers. The work tries to take the outside, the nearby, and the faraway into account; it tries to stay open to new developments and to test endurance. |
