SABINE MACHER / 2003

SABINE MARCHER, 2003
Choreographer, dancer and writer, lives and works in Paris.
Sabine Macher comes from literary studies. At the beginning of the 1980s, she concentrated on dance and collaborated for instance to the projects of choreographer Georges Appaix. Aside from dancing, she writes and has published several books with different publishers. Sabine Macher’s entry to the Laboratoires was related to the assistance of a choreographic research project, which took place in public at the Laboratoires in the context of the event Ouverture 1 (fall, 2003). The piece Kelien zo o nijal (des mouches volent) is an intimate show for a reduced audience, an expanded time to experience and share with the artist. Sabine Macher establishes a soft complicity with the audience, leading them to take part in different actions, and summoning absent characters (such as writer Jérôme Mauche and actor Pierre Giraud). The show took place at the Centre Chorégraphique National of the region of Brittany (Rennes) in February 2004.
