JOSEPH GRIGELY 2003 session August 25/September 6 ![]() Joseph Grigely is an artist, born in 1956; he lives in Chicago. This workshop allowed the questioning of the notion of “transversality”, a word used to describe the shift from one technique of representation to another - such as the representation of sound through visual imagery. How can one “see” sound? How can one “listen” to shapes and movements? Joseph Grigely’s workshop, fundamentally mobile in its form, developed around the question of language and communication, the artist proposing a working protocol each day, involving the whole group. The workshop took place in English and was facilitated by the presence of Kevin Cikatricis, certified interpreter of sign language and specialized in the cultural field. The workshop generated several written productions (reproduced in a portfolio enclosed in the Journal des Laboratoires n°2) and a film. |
