Textiles pedagogies: geometries, weaving, design
Monday 16th February 2015, 3:30pm to 5:30pm
Cycle de conférences expériementales

Lecrture proposed by Ida Soulard

Based on the writings of Anni Albers (1899-1994), the conference will focus on the textile workshop at Bauhaus in Dessau, from 1925 to 1932, as an experimental site for invention, for technical, political and aesthetic creativity.

We will discover how the textile factory has become a place for interdisciplinary production, the new paradigms that revolutionized a certain concept of the relationships between art and science, technology and aesthetics, body, gesture and machine.

Finally, we will also see how this place changed subjectivities: from the production of generic gestures to the impersonal expressions.
