Gabriel Desplanque is an artist. Born in 1981, he lives and works in Paris. His work mixes several mediums, photography, video, text, drawing, installation. He is interested in contemporary dance, the relation to theatricality and the link text-image - these different aspects influence his work. He studied and got graduated by the École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (2006) and the École des Beaux Arts de Paris (2008), and did his researches at the “post-diplôme” La Seine (2009-2011). He did several residencies (CPIF, Centre in 2009), French Institute of Barcelona in 2012). His work has been displayed in public institutions like Centre d'Art in Tanlay, the Arsenal in Metz, Centre d'Art Bastille in Grenoble, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Paris... His films were projected in different festivals: Hors-Piste in Centre georges Pompidou, Festival Paris-Berlin, Les Nuits Blanches in Paris, the french Cinémathèque in Barcelona…
In 2013 he won the award Zervos-Bourgogne, and will held a monographic exhibtion in the Maison Zervos in July-August 2014 about the project "Maison Suzanne", that is nourrished by his various practices, including a new musical dimension.
