Session 2002

ALAIN MICHARD

Alain Michard is a choreographer; he was invited to reside at the Laboratoires for 2003-2004.
The workshop of Alain Michard concentrated on collective corporal exercises in the studio, as a parallel to experiences of physical apprehension of the specific topography of the town of Aubervilliers. During the workshop, the participants were invited to develop mini creations inspired by the social and architectural context of Aubervilliers, leading them to carry out site-specific research.

NATHALIE QUINTAINE

Nathalie Quintane is a writer, born in 1964.
Nathalie Quintane offered the participants daily “restrainted writing” (restraint of format, semantic field, subject) exercises. Each day thus resulted in the personal writing of a text. The participants, coming from various fields (fine arts, dance, theater) but none from writing, got the opportunity to experiment this activity, nourishing it with their own worlds as creators. Some of the works produced were presented in small photocopied editions.

FABRICE REYMOND

Fabrice Reymond is an artist, born in 1969.
Fabrice Reymond proposed to try out the principle of “desynchronized cinema” by working collectively on the elaboration of a data base constituted by sound, images and texts brought by each participant. A work group on the processing and association of all the material collected, thanks to computer tools, followed this collection and production phase. The whole result was presented as a sound and image installation during one evening at the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers.

CLAUDIA TRIOZZI

Claudia Triozzi is a choreographer; she resided at the Laboratory in 2001 and 2002.

Choreographer Claudia Triozzi proposed a workshop in relation to the musical show she was working on at that time. She chose to develop a working program essentially around voice, including daily warming of the voice and appropriated exercises, addressed to young non-professional singers. To each day corresponded a particular theme as a basis for the exercises. In parallel, recording experiments were carried out, as well as a specific working time with artist and musician Xavier Boussiron. The workshop generated a performance accounting for the work achieved.
